Let me guess… You’ve been spending hours and hours going through musclebuilding sites, token articles & videos online trying to find that one big secret to gaining muscle mass in the fastest possible time. And I’m here to let you know that this won’t do you much good because all you’re trying to do is put all the pieces of the puzzle together yourself, usually back to front.
From my experiences when I was starting out trying to make sense of the ‘how to grow muscle fast’ jungle, you’ll literally spend months trying to figure it all out, and greatly delaying that quest for your dream bod. So let’s begin with kicking one common myth out of the way first, once and for all.
Bodybuilding Supplements
Myth: Supplements will make me big. If I don’t spend money on them, I’ll grow much slower.
Fact: Supplements are only as effective as the quality of your training.
Now I want to keep this short, because you don’t have all day, and there’s only a simple short message you need for final clarity on this anyway. With the exception to things like creatine that help with power & endurance during workouts, you can get everything you need from the right organic diet. But if the quality of your training isn’t high, all the expensive supplements in the world WON’T and physically CAN’T make you big.
And this is because of the simple fact that supplements only help in recovery (building new muscle cells). Stuff like creatine do help with a bit of extra ‘oomph’ or power during a work-out, but that’s about it. You can get most of what you need to re-build shredded muscle by eating the right organic diet. The most important and central ‘enabler’ for fastest muscle gains is ‘knowing’ how to train.
I’m not saying that supplements are a complete waste. They do have their place. What I’m saying is that they’re not what’s going to make you big like they ‘indicate’ in those ads. It’s the quality of your training that will make you big. It’s always the training. All pro-builder endorsements you see in ads are ‘paid’ endorsements. That’s why I don’t have their banners on this site, unless I’ve tryid it myself and found it to help.
The truth behind most ‘body transformation’ before & afters…
Yeah… this is another industry dirty trick pulled by supplement corporate fat-cats. The thing you have the right to know is, most or all of those miraculous body transformation before & after photos you see in articles or ads are steroid assisted. And they usually claim that it was ‘wonder supplement’ that did it for them in an attempt to get you to spend more money.
To the trained eye, it is obvious that they’re not natural. But if you’re new, it’s easy to be tricked. So let me help you out by showing you a couple of competing natural bodybuilder photos, so that you know what a natural bodybuilder actually looks like ‘in photos’. That way you won’t be tricked next time you see these before & afters into buying their product.

THAT’S what natural looks like. But don’t be at all uninspired by that, because if you saw these guys in the flesh, (and not cutting up for competition), believe me… they look BIG… and you’d be VERY impressed. Guys always look smaller in photos, (and trust me, women LOVE natural bodybuilders at least as much).
So always remember that most of the guys in before and afters ARE steroid users, (and I don’t mean that as a judgment). It’s literally-physically impossible to get that big and have muscles that bulge like that (no matter what genetics you have) within a 10 year period… without the testical shrinking… diabolically expensive step of pinching yourself with a needle. That’s a proven fact.

As I said… it’s the quality of your training that’s the biggest decider of how big you get, and at what speed you get there. So let’s run through the short-list of what decides the quality of your training.

- don’t over-train. Use the correct amount of hours you spend in the gym, (wherby too much training will NOT make you grow faster).
- vary the days you train each muscle group. Don’t train legs every Wednesday, and chest every Monday. Change the days around.

Most of the ‘top’ musclebuilding sites are actually set up and owned by bodybuilding supplement companies. So it’s in their interests to keep you ignorant at a level that makes you believe their supplements will make you big.
They are just like their offline magazine counterparts (usually owned by the same companies)… They simply put in some handy token articles/videos by experts that don’t reveal enough of the secrets you need… fill every other page with steroid muscle-builder before & afters and supplement ads… then watch the money roll in. The fact that they have ‘Store’ & ‘View Cart’ links at either sides or the top of their page, gives it away.
It’s important to know that most of the Fortune500 companies are in ‘consumables’, which is a big part of why they’re Fortune500 companies. With consumables, people spend money every month on the same product.
This is why bodybuilding supplements is BIG BUSINESS.
What I hope I achieved through this article is that I’ve ‘saved’ you money, by knowing how the bodybuilding industry works and who runs it, (that’s right… supplement corporations).
